Dear travelers, how to prepare for travel against coronavirus? Here are a few points that will help you manage travel, international flights, vacations or business trips more safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Testing COVID-19 at Václav Havel Airport
We have launched the possibility of testing for COVID-19 in the immediate vicinity of Václav Havel Airport. The offer is valid for all passengers who have a scheduled departure or departure arrival from/to Prague and need to be tested.
K2 Pharm Technology is currently performing these PCR and antigen assays provides testing at GoParking Prague Ruzyně Airport for our travel clients offices. In both cases, these are some of the best tests in the world and in the ratio between price and quality in this comparison they completely excel.
- For the PCR test, if you have ordered a hotel or a ticket from us, you will pay an unbeatable CZK 990.
- For others 1590 CZK per person.
- For others with a result of up to 4 hours, it is CZK 2,250 per person.
The test results are fully recognized for travel abroad.
In order to be able to schedule the exact date and time of the test, it is necessary to make a reservation. You can do this free of charge using the following form:
Additional information to the order form
- Leave the field on the test date before departure or after arrival blank if variant does not apply. Fill in after the date and time or as an indication, eg 1.7.2021 morning.
- The data you send us is used solely and exclusively for immediate operations related to securing the reservation of the COVID-19 test.
- After filling in the required data and sending the form, expect a call from WEB SHOP FLY customer service, who will discuss the details of the visit with you and provide additional information.
Frequently asked Questions
As long as the covid regulations apply, can Czechs and Slovaks leave Vienna?
Yes, citizens from the Czech Republic and Slovakia can travel from Vienna Airport. It is still possible to enter Austria without a negative test and without mandatory quarantine and without registration in the following cases, which must be credibly proven upon entry:
Transit or transit through Austria without stopping, which exceptionally applies even in case of necessary interruptions. Also transport to the airport, or transport of passengers from the airport Flughafen Wien Schwechat, resp. to/from Vienna Central Station, Hauptbahnhof Wien, is possible, but only if the passenger, resp. their escort will leave the territory of Austria immediately after import/export.
And at the airport it is obligatory to wear an FFP2 respirator, surgical drapes from 25.01.2021 are not accepted.
How does the FRANKD PCR test work?
FRANKD uses patented technology to improve the productivity of the testing process to speed it up, simplify it and significantly reduce its cost compared to standard laboratory RT-PCR tests. The simplified process allows on-site testing using trained personnel. FRANKD tests are manufactured in Europe, use unique technology and do not compete for the same indicators used by standard RT-PCR laboratory tests.
FRANKD assays are NAAT assays that allow the detection of nucleic acids in an isothermal amplification reaction. In this case, we can detect SARS-CoV-2 RNA in an isothermal reaction within 30 minutes. They allow results to be obtained without the RNA purification step and can directly test a sample that is taken from a swab, thus minimizing false positive results. This is a method that is about 60 minutes faster than standard RT-PCR testing. This allows you to change the test to screening tests.
FRANKD tests are an ideal test for airport testing because they are quick and easy.
What is the principle of the Healgen Ag Rapid antigen test?
The Ag Rapid Test Cassette (Swab) is an immunochromatographic membrane assay that uses highly sensitive monoclonal antibodies to detect the nucleocapsid protein from SARS-CoV-2 in direct nasopharyngeal (NP) swabs.
The test strip consists of the following parts: sample pads, reagent pads, reaction membranes, and absorbent pads. The reagent pad contains colloidal gold conjugated to anti-nucleocapsid monoclonal antibodies, the reaction membrane contains secondary antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein. The test strip is attached inside the plastic device.
When the sample is added to the sample well, the conjugates dried in the reagent pad are dissolved and migrate with the sample. If the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen is present in the sample, a complex will be formed between the anti-SARS-2 conjugate and the virus, which will be captured by specific anti-SARS-2 monoclonal antibodies coated in the test line (T) region. The absence of the test line (T) indicates a negative result. For procedural control, a red line always appears in the area of the control line (C), which means that the correct sample volume has been added.
The critical issue with antigen tests is not specificity (false positive results) or sensitivity (false negative results), but the limit of detection (LoD). It shows how good the test for capturing low viral load in asymptomatic people is. Antigen assays use different LoD measurements than RT-PCR assays due to the nature of antigen identification by antigen as opposed to RNA.
As a result, they are less accurate than RT-PCR, but there is still a huge difference between the available assays. Most antigen tests will have a very high LoD, so they have limited use in obtaining asymptomatic or even symptomatic cases. For effective testing, a test with the best possible LoD is needed.
Who provides testing for COVID-19 at Václav Havel Airport?
PCR and antigen testing are provided by our partner company K2pharm s.r.o..
