## Sights in Spain

### Holy Family

It is a large unfinished Roman Catholic minor basilica in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The construction work, designed by the Spanish / Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926), is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. On November 7, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the church and declared it a minor basilica.
On March 19, 1882, construction of the Sagrada Familia began under the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar. In 1883, when Villar resigned, Gaudí took over as chief architect and transformed the project with his architectural and engineering style, which combined Gothic and curvature Art Nouveau forms. Gaudí devoted the rest of his life to the project and is buried in the crypt. At the time of his death in 1926, less than a quarter of the project had been completed.

### Park Güell

It is a public park system composed of gardens and architectural elements located on Carmel Hill in Barcelona. Carmel Hill belongs to the Collserola Mountains - Parc del Carmel is located on the north side. Park Güell is located in La Salut, in Barcelona’s Gràcia district. With regard to urbanization, Eusebi Güell assigned the design of the park to Antoni Gaudí, a renowned architect and face of Catalan modernity.
The park was built between 1900 and 1914 and was officially opened as a public park in 1926. In 1984, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site under the work of Antoni Gaudí.

### Alhambra

It is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Spain, in Andalusia. It was originally built as a small fortress in 889 AD. on the remains of a Roman fortification and then was largely ignored until its ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid-13th century by the Nasrid emir Mohammed Ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built his current palace and walls with many beautiful and intricate details. It was converted into a royal palace in 1333 by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada.

### Casa Milà

Popularly known as La Pedrera "Quarry", a reference to its unconventional rugged appearance, is a modernist building in Barcelona, Spain. It was the last private residence designed by architect Antoni Gaudi and was built between 1906 and 1912.

### La Rambla

There is a street in the center of Barcelona. The tree-lined pedestrian street stretches for 1.2 km and connects Plaça de Catalunya in its center with the Christopher Columbus Monument in Port Vell. La Rambla forms the border between the Barri Gòtic districts in the east and El Raval in the west. La Rambla can be crowded, especially during the peak tourist season. Its popularity with tourists influenced the character of the street, which compositionally moved into cafes and souvenirs. She also suffered from the attention of pickpockets.

### Butlló House

It is a building in the center of Barcelona. It was designed by Antoni Gaudi and is considered one of his masterpieces. With the reconstruction of the previously built house, Gaudí was reworked in 1904 and then it was reconstructed several times. Gaudí's assistants Domènec Sugrañes i Gras, Josep Canaleta and Joan Rubió also took part in the renovation project.

- Tenerife - is the largest and most populous island of the eight Canary Islands. It is also Spain's most populous island with an area of 2,034.38 square kilometers (785.48 square miles) and a population of 917,841 in early 2019, 43 percent of the Canary Islands' total population. Tenerife is the largest and most populous island of Macaronesia.

- Fuerteventura - is in the Atlantic Ocean and is part of the region of North Africa, politically part of Spain. At 1,659.74 square kilometers (640.83 square miles), it is the second largest of the Canary Islands after Tenerife. At the beginning of 2019, Fuerteventura had a population of 116,886. In May 2009, it was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Its capital is Puerto del Rosario.

- Gran Canaria - located in the Atlantic Ocean about 150 kilometers from the northwest coast of Africa and about 1350 km from Europe. [4] With an area of 1,560 km2 (602 square miles) and an altitude of 1,956 m (6,417 ft) in Morro de la Agujereada, Gran Canaria is the third largest island of the archipelago in both area and altitude. Gran Canaria is also the third most populous island in Spain after Tenerife and Mallorca.

- Lanzarote - one of the Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa administered by Spain, is known for its year-round warm weather, beaches and volcanic landscape. The rocky landscape of Timanfaya National Park was created by volcanic eruptions in the 1930s. Cueva de los Verdes has caves formed by an underground lava river. On the east coast of Puerto del Carmen, there are whitewashed villas, beaches and diving centers.

- La Palma - like the other islands of the Canary Islands archipelago, is an island of the volcanic ocean. The volcano rises almost 7 km (4 mi) above the floor of the Atlantic Ocean. There is road access from sea level to the summit at an altitude of 2,426 m (7,959 feet), which is marked by the ascent of rocks called Los Muchachos ("Lords"). This is the site of the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, one of the world's leading astronomical observatories.

- Balearic Islands - are archipelagos in the west of the Mediterranean Sea. Politically, it is a province and at the same time one of the 17 autonomous communities of Spain. The islands consist of two groups: the Balearic Islands themselves (including the islands of Mallorca, Menorca and several other smaller islands and islets, such as Cabrera) and the Pityus Islands (including the islands of Ibiza, Formentera and several islets). The largest of these islands is Mallorca.

- Mallorca - is the largest island in the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain and are located in the Mediterranean. The local language, as in the other Balearic Islands, is Catalan, which is official Spanish.

- Menorca - is one of the Balearic islands in the Mediterranean Sea belonging to Spain. Its name is derived from its size and contrasts with nearby Mallorca. Its largest city and capital is Mahón (Catalan: Maó [məˈo], Spanish: Mahón [maˈon]), the eastern side of the island, although Menorca is not a province and forms a political union with the other islands in the archipelago.

- Ibiza - Is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea off the east coast of Spain. It is 150 kilometers (93 miles) from the city of Valencia. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, an autonomous community of Spain. Its largest settlements are the city of Ibiza (Catalan: Vila d'Eivissa or simply Vila), Santa Eulària des Riu and Sant Antoni de Portmany. Its highest point, called Sa Talaiassa (or Sa Talaia), is 475 meters above sea level.

- Formentera - next to Ibiza is one of the two main islands of the Pityus Islands, part of the Spanish Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands. It is approximately 19 kilometers long, has an area of 83 km2 and about 10,500 inhabitants. The island can only be reached by boat from the island of Ibiza, so it is visited by relatively few tourists. The island is relatively flat and all places are easily accessible by bike.

## The most beautiful beaches

- La Concha Beach, San Sebastian - La Concha Beach is a crescent-shaped city shore in the city of San Sebastian, located in the bay of La Concha in the Basque Country in northern Spain. The name "Concha" is given by its remarkably regular shape.

- Playa de Las Catedrales, Galicia - Praia das Catedrais is located on the northwest coast of Spain. It is the name given to tourism by Praia de Augas Santas. The beach is located in the village of Ribadeo in the province of Lugo on the coast of Cantabric and lies about ten kilometers west of the town of Ribadeo

- Playa del Silencio, Asturias - Such a special beach must have the same special name. Why is it called Playa del Silencio? In fact, it is also known as Playa d’El Gavieiru, but its more common name comes from less than painted. Impressive rock masses act as a natural window sill, protecting it from waves and creating a refuge for calm and quiet waters. An earthly paradise, of which there is little left and we must protect it.

- Ses Illetes, Formentera, Balearic Islands - Ses Illetes is located north of the island in the Ses Salines Natural Park and is considered the best beach in Spain and one of the best beaches in the world in the world annual ranking.
  It has a very long tongue of fine white sand. Thanks to its rich underwater ecosystem and natural environment, the beach has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

- Beaches of Sitges, Catalonia, Near Barcelona - Sitges is a very popular destination for those heading to Spain for sunshine and fun. - Nerja, Costa del Sol, Andalusia - is a municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It is part of the comarca La Axarquía. It is located on the southern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, about 50 km east of Malaga. Under the Muslim government, its name was Narixa, which means "rich source" and is the origin of the current name.

- La Barrosa, Chiclana de la Frontera, Cádiz - The Battle of Chiclana and La Barrosa is said to have taken place on Playa de la Barrosa, an important milestone in the Spanish War of Independence.

- Tarifa, Cádiz, Andalusia - Tarifa is a Spanish municipality in the province of Cádiz in Andalusia. It is located at the southernmost end of the Iberian Peninsula and is known primarily as one of the most popular windsport destinations in the world. Tarifa is located on the Costa de la Luz and across the Strait of Gibraltar towards Morocco.

- Gandia, Costa Blanca, Valencia - Since 2020, Gandia has been one of the largest coastal cities in Spain, with a population of over 200,000 over the summer and the center of trade and tourism in its region. There are two main zones, Gandia City, which has all the historical monuments, business activities and shopping, and Gandia beach, where apartments and summer residences are used during the summer season. Bars and nightclubs are concentrated on the beach. As usual for Spain, nightlife does not begin until midnight.

- Playa de los Peligros & Playa de la Magdalena, Santander - The beach is located in the center of Santander, next to the beach and the Magdalena Peninsula, close to Cantabrian Maritime Museum.
