The Geneva International Airport lies four kilometers northwest of the city center. There is already French territory beyond the northern border of the airport, so passengers traveling to France no longer have to pass through Swiss customs officers. In 2008, the airport carried 11,409,833 passengers.
All flights from Geneva Airport are handled in one 3-level terminal. Airline EasyJet, Baboo and Swiss International Air Lines have their base here. Among them there are Flybe, Hello, Edelweiss Air, Jet2.com, Tunisair, or bmibaby.
Public transport buses stop every 8 - 15 minutes at the airport; Line 10 runs to the city center. __The bus ticket can be picked up free of charge from the vending machine at the terminal’s arrivals hall.
The airport terminal is clean, but its door usually closes an hour after midnight. During the day, however, you can lie down on hard seats, but far from enough.
In the Swiss Arrivals Sector, six car rentals have branches. These are Europcar, Hertz, Avis, Budget, National, Alamo and Sixt. Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Sixt and National have offices in the French part of the arrival terminal.
