What to do after landing in Peru?
Under normal circumstances, it should not take you more than an hour to go through immigration control since landing. After making sure that you have a 90-day stamp in your passport and picking up your luggage, you should exchange money as usual after arriving to a foreign country where your currency is not valid. We do not recommend exchanging more money at the airport, as there is usually a worse exchange rate than in cities.
Which airport transfer you choose will depend mainly on your travel itinerary. If you plan to spend a few days in Lima you have a choice between bus and taxi. If you are planning to go straight to other parts of Peru and have not opted for air travel, it is definitely worth considering renting a car. It is advisable to arrange this in advance.
