Fly to the ski mecca in January

The town of silver mines, nowadays more a mecca for skiers. On the 15 kilometers of eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, there are four areas: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass and Buttermilk. Together they offer an amazing 341 routes on over 2,000 hectares of ski and snowboard terrain.

Aspen, the most famous ski resort, as well as three other areas, boasts an average snow depth of an incredible 7.62 meters and fine white powder is a matter of course.

Ski equipment can be rented on site.

The Aspen Mountain extreme slopes are a place for all who love extreme escarpments. Not a single path is rated here as easy. The larger half of the routes are difficult and the rest are steep escarpments.

The local favorite is rather Aspen Highlands. Ski experts can find black slopes that lead from top to town.

Buttermilk is a center for beginners and small children. Here you will find only green and blue slopes.

The center hosts the world famous ESPN Winter XGames. Near the summit lies a wooden fortress between the landscaped path and a few mild bulges, the playground of The Fort Frog.

Snowmass and its slopes are most appreciated by advanced skiers. The most popular is the Big Burn - a kilometer wide slope. Powderhorn, Slot and Zugspritz black slopes are very difficult for true professionals.

Take the children with you, they will be excited!

The children’s ski area is charming. At the end of one forest road is a herd of domesticated deer. Another trail leads through the trees, where you meet a snow man who breaks the snowboard accompanied by authentic sounds. Snow tunnels, jumps, bulges, fortresses and crazy slalom will keep children entertained for hours.

Teenagers will appreciate the higher slopes, where a lot of adrenaline and extreme adventure await them in Cirque Headwall, which is lined with snow.
