It is the largest and strongest sea current of this type in the world. The whole mountain system culminates in the 1,050 m high point Svartinnd. Hiking trails are not usually found, but the ascents to the island peaks are worth seeing.
In Å you will find a fishing museum and Ågvatnet lake, whose shores are a great starting point for climbing the lookout ridge below Gjertinden. You will be greeted by breathtaking views of the hills, the sea and the lake below.
